For four years, garnering national acclaim and now earning
applause internationally, tenor Donald George and pianist Lucy
Mauro have been conducting their master classes, workshops and
other presentations, specializing in such areas as developing
musical expression and communication, the nineteenth-century
German Melodram, and the art of collaborative performance.
With a new bright and expressive approach to the traditional
recital, incorporating multimedia that includes narration and
projected images, they have created concert experiences of
unequaled beauty, effervescence and lightness combined with
literary, musical and artistic appeal.
Their new CD, Love is Everywhere: Selected Songs of Margaret
Ruthven Lang, Volume 1, was selected as "Recording of the Year
2011" by MusicWeb International, calling it a "delightful,
refreshing experience" and "the revelation of the year". It was also
selected by iTunes for their "New and Noteworthy" and by
WETA in Washington as their Vocal CD Pick of the Week and
was featured in the Naxos Newsletter in February 2011 and the
Journal of Singing in September 2011. The second volume, New
Love Must Rise is scheduled for release by Delos in February 2012.
